Spring Palette
Blinds are raised and doors swung open, flooding dark houses with glorious sunshine and sending through a breath of fresh air. People emerge from winter slumbers, drawn towards the light and life in the outside world. The cool morning air warms to a gentle breeze, filled with the unmistakable fragrance of spring.
Empty branches become masterpieces, adorned with bursts of bright colour. They dance above backyards and playgrounds to a soundtrack of buzzing bees and chirping chicks in tree-top nests.
Garden beds come to life, lined with colourful rows of tulips, daisies and daffodils, smiling up to greet passers-by. Magnificent magnolias stand elegantly in courtyards. Waterfalls of wisteria hang haphazardly along fence lines.
Millions of minuscule leaflets flutter over fences and across parklands, as Jacarandas shed their fern-like foliage in preparation for renewal. Unremarkable for much of the year, suburban streets and networks of bush land valleys become littered with colour.
Horizons of rolling hills will soon be alight with flame trees, boasting branches covered in spectacular fiery blooms. Rainbow lorikeets can’t help but feast on the sweet nectar. A lake of bright red covers the ground below, flowing like fine wine. Jacarandas will fill the landscape with springtime colour. The warm breeze blows on the branches, sending purple rain towards the beautifully blanketed lawn below.
Moods are lifted and outlooks transformed with an array of colour in the form of blooms and blossoms. This is the palette of Spring.
