Enough – What a Girl Needs, and Doesn’t Need, to Shine

Share:

Enough with restrictions we place on young girls.

There’s more to their skillset than cartwheels and swirls.

Enough with fragility; girls can be tough.

They’ll overcome challenges, some really rough.

Enough putting limits on what girls can do.

One day they’ll climb mountains, be CEOs too.

Enough with the gossip, the rumours, the hurt.

Girl’s names have repute when they’re not smeared with dirt.

Enough building ceilings of glass in her way.

A champ aims to out-grow her rivals one day.

Enough with misogyny. It’s more than unfair,

All females work harder with this weight to bear.

Enough stony silence from those with the pants.

A girl will stand taller when given the chance.

Enough faint pretending that everything’s fine.

Believing and backing will help our girls shine.

Enough! Teach your girls they should reach for the stars,

And they’ll soar right through the glass ceiling, by far.
